Ludger Hennig – Sound Art & Live Electronics
Even before his studies in Film/Cinematography and Sound & Media Art, Ludger Hennig was engaged with sound material, space, and their inherent musical nature. His installation-based sound art focuses on the manipulation of spatial dimensions and the expansion of soundscapes in all directions.
Since 2005, he has expanded his artistic practice to include improvised computer music/live electronics, sound architectures, loudspeaker projections, ecologic hearing and weather.
Since 2007, he is working as a Master Technician for Bill Viola Studio, providing technical realization and support for sound art projects by various artists. For many years, he taught at the Studio for Electroacoustic Music (SeaM) at the University of Music (HfM) in Weimar and is occasionally lecturing at the University of Helsinki and giving workshops in listening practice.
He has collaborated on various projects with artists such as Simon Berz, Cyril Bondi, d’incise, Geoff Gersh, Willi Hanne, Christof Knoche, Kirk Knuffke, Markus Markowski, Rafal Mazur, Robin Minard, Joss Turnbull, Joris Ruehl, Ursula Scherrer, Sciss, Paul Nilsen-Love, Kristoffer Berre Alberts, Winnie Brückner, and Stefan Schultze, among others.
